New Delhi/Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya participated in the National Rural Development Conference held in New Delhi on Monday. The national-level event brought together policymakers, public representatives, experts, and stakeholders to discuss innovation, good governance, public participation, and sustainable development in rural India.
The conference commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and the release of a special publication highlighting key rural development initiatives. The event was chaired by Union Minister for Rural Development and Agriculture Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
Launch of the ‘Lakhpati Didi Dashboard’
One of the key highlights of the conference was the launch of the Lakhpati Didi Dashboard, a digital platform designed to monitor the progress of women associated with Self-Help Groups (SHGs). The dashboard will help track income enhancement, assess the impact of government programmes, and provide real-time data to support effective planning and policy formulation.
Officials stated that the initiative is expected to strengthen women’s economic empowerment and promote sustainable livelihoods in rural communities.
Focus on Rural Transformation and Women’s Empowerment
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said that rural development has gained unprecedented momentum under the leadership of the Prime Minister. He emphasized that the government’s objective extends beyond infrastructure expansion to ensuring economic empowerment and self-reliance among rural families, especially women, youth, and farmers.
He noted that Self-Help Groups have emerged as a driving force in strengthening the rural economy and that the Lakhpati Didi initiative is playing a significant role in advancing women’s financial independence.
Maurya also highlighted Uttar Pradesh’s ongoing efforts to improve rural infrastructure, strengthen connectivity, generate employment opportunities, and support women-led self-help groups. He stated that the state government is effectively implementing welfare schemes while setting new benchmarks in rural development.

Uttar Pradesh Youth Receive National Recognition
A major attraction of the conference was the felicitation of winners from various national digital competitions conducted through the MyGov and My Bharat platforms.
Among the award recipients were Uttar Pradesh youths Abhay Gupta and Jheel Gautam, who were honoured for their creativity and contribution to promoting rural development through the national “60 Seconds for My Village” reel and video challenge. The winners received recognition from senior dignitaries, including the Union Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister.
Congratulating the awardees, Maurya said that young people from Uttar Pradesh are effectively using technology not only for innovation but also to highlight rural challenges and solutions before a wider audience. He described the recognition as an inspiration for other young citizens across the state.
